Pangani is a jewel of a town set amongst ancient coconut plantations on the mouth of the lazy Pangani River. Pangani is opposite Zanzibar. It is not so commercialized as Zanzibar and probably is everything Zanzibar was a few years ago. Pangani is a paradise; the perfect place to relax and recharge the batteries.

Zanzibar archipelago comes to us from a history of powerful trading links with Arabia and Persia; Zanzibar Island provided the gateway for slavers, gold, ivory, wood, spices, glass, and textiles. Early in the 16th century the Portuguese arrived, at which time the clove plantations were established.
The diving around the Zanzibar Islands is exceptional, offering some of the best diving in the world. For serious divers the best locations must be the deep dives out on the Pemba Reefs. If you are into this, then Pemba Island is the place to go for all your diving along the East African Coast. These reefs are awesome with a great variety of diving on offer.

1. Diving into Belize’s Blue Hole - The Ambergris region of Belize may well have the best diving and snorkeling in the world. First stop: a visit to Captain Rene, tel. (501) 26-2819. He’ll take you to all the coolest spots, such as the (ominous sounding) Blue Hole, a 400-foot-deep, 1,000-foot in diameter former cave, located in the center of the Lighthouse Reef Atoll. You may remember this place from when Jacques Cousteau brought the world’s attention to it in the 70s. No worries if you don’t because you’ll never forget this place once you’ve visited. You’ll descend 130 feet and explore huge stalactites and stalagmites and may even catch sight of the reef sharks that inhabit this underwater cave.

Aruba is an island along the Caribbean Sea, situated north of Paraguana Peninsula, Falcon State and Venezuela. It belongs to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Unique among other lands in the Caribbean region, Aruba has a dry climate. This difference is actually welcomed by tourists, though, as they can always expect consistently warm and sunny weather.
